SUMMARY:Level 3 Emergency Outdoor First Aid
DESCRIPTION:The FAA Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid (RQF) is tailored for outdoor instructors, expedition leaders and staff operating in remote or rural locations. This qualification prepares candidates to confidently act as designated first aiders in situations where emergency medical services are more than 30 minutes away. Participants gain practical expertise in managing complex incidents, treating severe trauma and handling environmental illnesses caused by extreme heat or cold. Fully aligned with the Institute for Outdoor Learning Band 3 requirements, this regulated award also satisfies the expedition first aid criteria for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.
